I often say, when you get your email marketing dialed in, it’s like printing money.

And here’s proof.

A short story about how we got here.

This author went from just starting their direct selling journey in July/August, having zero Klaviyo subscribers, to growing to 26% attributed revenue in 30 days!

Here’s what’s even crazier.

They’re still growing.

There are still more levers we can pull to help climb their revenue even higher.

Having seen the value of my services, they signed on to have me manage their list on a monthly basis so that together we can continue to grow the retention side of their business.

Our goal with the promotional calendar is to keep the list engaged and highlight different products to keep readers moving through their backlist.

Soon, we’ll add SMS to their account and when we have that, we’ll build a strategy to get even more out of their list.

I can’t take all the credit for their success.

It takes a village to build a town center.

But they had a few things going for them to make my job easier.

Like…

  • Writing good books in a popular genre…
  • Coming up with a great offer that converts well on the front end…
  • Choosing to drive in the fast lane by hiring Cameron Snow, a great paid media coach, and his team at Authors Direct Sales.

All of this laid the foundation for me to go to work and sky-rocket the attributed revenue to 26% in 30-days.

This business boils down to 2 things.

  1. Acquisition
  2. Retention

One piece of the retention (keeping the readers you have) puzzle is dividing the list into segments based on what your readers have and haven’t done. This is the engine that drives Klaviyo and what differentiates it from its competitors.

The second piece of the puzzle is advanced sequences.

I divided their flows between pre-sale and after sale sequences, making sure the right email was going to the right person at the right time to help increase conversion.

That’s 70% of the retention strategy.

The other 30% comes from campaign sends. And since this author hired me to manage their list, a part of my monthly “done for you” service is to turn their emails into an experience to get readers excited to read their books.

Because when you send consistent, frequent email campaigns and pair it with your smart automations, achieving growth like this becomes almost guaranteed.

Want me to manage your Klaviyo account?

This is my “done for you” service where I write your email and SMS campaigns, monitor your deliverability, and find every penny in your account so you can focus on what matters, writing your next book.
